Become a Patron of 2SLGBTQ+ Artists and Creatives
La Otra Taller Nepantla reimagines the dissemination of resources for 2SLGBTQ+ Bipoc creatives, by hosting writers, artists and healers at a one-month, creative residency for retreat, healing, research, creating and reconnecting with the land. Without the guilt, microaggressions, stress, financial strain and distraction often found in institutions, in the workplace and even in our own homes, the Taller Fellows will reside together in a shared long-term vision to eradicate racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, transphobia and the “gatekeeper” model. Taking place in South Texas, La Otra Taller will serve as a solitary time for each creative to nurture a current individual project while also gaining the constructive feedback, professional and spiritual support of a team of visiting Mentor Instructors and their Taller-Cohort, during the residency and in the future. In the year following the initial residency, the cohort will present a culmination event of their work and publish a zine, documenting the work created by each Taller Cohort, in an effort to contribute to 2SLGBTQ+ Archives of Arts, Culture and Folklife of South Texas.
